Jean-Christophe Gairard (FR) – violin
Nejc Škofic – piano, analog sound synthesizer
Jošt Lampret – double bass
The band Trionica consists of three top musicians. Their paths crossed for the first time in August last year, under the auspices of the Godalkanja production in Kamnik, whose idea leader is violinist and pedagogue Bojan Cvetrežnik.
Their repertoire is based on the musical tradition of some countries in Southeast Europe (Romania, Bulgaria…) and the Balkan Peninsula (Serbia), which Trionica combines with the influences of jazz and classical music.
An analog sound synthesizer intervenes between the violin and the double bass as an imitator of cymbals and accordions. All of this fosters a more modern, somewhat unconventional sound.
The trio thus combines different musical styles, the result of which could be called the balkan-fusion schvas apparatus.
